Tafila Technical University (TTU) was established by the Royal Decree on 17th Jan., 2005 as the ninth state and first Jordanian Technical University. TTU comprises five faculties. Currently, about 5000 students are enrolled at TTU. TTU is a member of the Arab Universities Union and since its establishment it signed many agreements of academic collaboration with international and regional institution such as: Kemnetz Technical University DE, Martin Luther University DE, Aveiro University PT, University of Nottingham UK, University of Bradford UK, University of Ba'ath SY, Bridgewater State College USA, University of Sabha YE, University of Rajasthan IN, University of Anbar IQ, Western Michigan University USA, University of Texas at El Paso USA, New Mexico State University USA, Indiana University of Pennsylvania USA, and many others in Europe, USA, Pakistan and Malaysia. A Language Center has been established at TTU in 2008 as an independent academic unit directly linked with the presidency. Its main task is preparation and executing programs for non-native Arabic learners.  This is achieved through various international agreements with academic and government institutions to enhance cultural dialogue and interaction. TTU is involved in many national, regional and international projects. Currently, TTU is involved in 4 international projects.
